摘要

The Vienna rectifier, a type of three-level rectifier, is widely used in various applications owing to its high efficiency, low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), and compact design. However, Zero-Crossing Distortion (ZCD) can occur in Vienna rectifiers, which degrades the THD performance of current, especially under high-power conditions. For reducing ZCD, a third-harmonic-based compensation method can be used. However, this method can increase the peak of the voltage reference, which may cause overmodulation, leading to increased distortion. One of the solutions is to increase the DC-link voltage, but a higher DC-link voltage can reduce overall power conversion efficiency. In this study, the overmodulation phenomenon caused by third-harmonic-based ZCD reduction is analyzed, and a method for determining the minimum DC-link voltage that prevents overmodulation is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through PSIM simulations and a Hardware-In-the-Loop System.
