DC-link voltage balance space sequence modulation for three-phase 3LNPC-CR in power electronic transformers
摘要
In power electronic transformers (PET), maintaining the DC-link voltage balance within the phase of the three-level neutral point clamped cascaded rectifier (3LNPC-CR) is crucial for stable operation. To balance the DC voltage of submodules within one phase, this paper presents a space sequence modulation (SSM) approach for the three-phase 3LNPC-CR in PET. By utilizing the unbalanced current injection control technique, this approach can effectively balance the DC-link voltages of submodules within one phase. The proposed SSM strategy manages the DC-link voltage by carefully selecting switching states in accordance with the current direction. The feasibility and control performance of this strategy were verified on a laboratory-scale low-power prototype. Although high-power verification at the PET level was not carried out in this work, relevant studies have confirmed the practical applicability of similar control strategies in PET systems. Comprehensive simulations and experiments clearly demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of this strategy. This work offers a practical and reliable solution for the voltage balance control of submodules within a phase of the 3LNPC-CR in PET, which can enhance the performance and stability of PET systems.
