摘要

The influence of the composition of nickel oxide–gadolinium doped ceria (NiO-GDC) on the onset conditions for flash sintering was investigated. The lowest flash onset temperature was achieved for 50:50 wt.% of NiO:GDC in the three electric fields applied (50, 70, and 100V/cm) and laid between 126 and 195 °C, which was slightly lower than pure NiO and much lower than GDC. The results obtained were differed from those reported in the literature, where the flash onset temperature in a ceramic composite system reached the lowest value for the pure and most conductive phase. The electrical properties and microstructure of NiO-GDC are discussed as responsible for the discrepancy.
