摘要

Nanoparticles (NPs) of Al3+ and Zn2+ doped LaFeO3 (La1-xAlxFe1-yZnyO3-δ) perovskite have been synthesized employing a hydrothermal route. Nanoparticles were characterized employing UV/visible, FTIR, SEM, EDX and XRD analytical techniques. The NPs were found having 14–18 nm size with rhombohedral structure. Tauc plots confirmed 1.97 eV band gap optical energy for the synthesized NPs. Electric and dielectric frequency-dependent properties have been studied and results revealed that doping in LaFeO3 increased AC conductivity while potentially reduced the values of the loss tangent, dielectric loss and dielectric constant with increasing frequency. Furthermore, the methylene blue degradation potential of the substituted NPs was determined and 93.04% degradation of the dye was achieved in 5 min. The effect of different factors (pH, catalyst dose) was also studied to optimize the degradation reaction in the presence of nanocatalyst. Substitution of perovskite with selected metals can significantly modify and enhance photocatalytic, optical, structural and dielectric properties of perovskite.
