摘要

This work investigates the effect of γ-Al2O3 additives on the CCD properties of Li6.5La3Zr1.5Ta0.5 O12 (LLZTO) solid electrolyte ceramics. LLZTO with large grains, optimized under the conditions of doping composition, sintering temperature, atmosphere, and crucible, exhibited a high relative density of over 98% and a high ionic conductivity of 7.79 × 10–4 S/cm. The electronic conductivity decreased with the addition of γ-Al2O3, and it was found that the Al component, thought to be either γ-Al2O3 itself or LiAlO2 particles, was uniformly distributed in the solid electrolyte. These can hinder the propagation of lithium dendrites within the grains. In fact, a high CCD value of 0.72 mA/cm2 was obtained when 1 wt% γ-Al2O3 was added. However, as the addition amount of γ-Al2O3 increased, the LLZTO became more porous, and the ionic conductivity and CCD properties were gradually degraded. In previous papers, γ-Al2O3 was mainly used to promote the sintering of LLZO-based ceramics. However, in this paper, we show that the addition of γ-Al2O3 can improve the CCD properties in large-grained LLZTO solid electrolytes.
