摘要

This case report describes a 54-year-old patient who had a popliteal artery pseudoaneurysm following a medial open wedge high tibial osteotomy (HTO). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed aberrant anterior tibial artery branching from the popliteal artery. The artery was located in close proximity to the posterior cortex of the proximal tibia and therefore posed a particular risk during HTO. Respecting the location and course of the popliteal artery in relation to the tibia in the preoperative MRI examination could help to avoid this rare complication.
