<p>The study provides a comprehensive and structured analysis of the research progression in the Agri-food supply chain (AFSC), identifying key themes, trends, and future research directions. By utilising a mixed-method approach that combines bibliometric, network, and content analyses of 1037 articles from the Scopus database, this study fills a critical gap in the literature, where such an integrative analysis has been lacking. Bibliometric tools such as BibExcel, Gephi, Biblioshiny, and VOSviewer are employed to present a broad descriptive, analytical, and graphical overview of the AFSC research landscape. The present study is the first of its kind to offer a holistic mapping of the AFSC domain, highlighting five major research themes: (1) sustainability and environment, (2) risks and resilience, (3) food loss and wastage, (4) design and decision-making, and (5) Industry 4.0 technologies. The findings contribute to the theoretical foundation of AFSC research, providing a roadmap for future studies. Practically, the study offers insights that can assist policymakers and industry practitioners in developing strategies to enhance the sustainability and resilience of AFSCs. Moreover, the study proposes three key areas for future research: the role of Agri 4.0, IoT, and smart farming in AFSC; strategies to reduce food loss and wastage; and approaches to mitigate risks and increase resilience in AFSCs.</p>
