摘要

Celebrity endorsement has long been recognized as a significant promotional strategy, yet research on multiple celebrity endorsements remains relatively limited. This study aims to fill this gap by examining the impact of multiple celebrity endorsements on perceived brand credibility and patronage intention, with particular focus on the mediating role of brand attractiveness. Drawing on the Meaning Transfer Model, we conceptualized multiple celebrity endorsements using three constructs: celebrity credibility, popularity, and reputation. Data was collected through an online survey conducted among students at two Nigerian tertiary institutions who participated in multiple celebrity endorsement campaigns by telecom firms. The findings reveal that celebrity credibility, popularity, and reputation have a significant effect on both perceived brand credibility and patronage intention. Additionally, perceived brand credibility serves as a mediator between celebrity credibility, popularity, and patronage intention, while brand attractiveness mediates the relationship between perceived brand credibility and patronage intention. The study offers valuable theoretical contributions and practical recommendations for leveraging multiple celebrity endorsements, particularly in emerging markets.
