Harnessing the Potential of E-HRM Practices for Sustainability: A DEMATEL Approach

Organizations widely use the concept of sustainability to enhance competitiveness for political purposes, with minimal workplace implications. The UN Secretary General expressed concern over the limited global initiatives to address sustainable issues. It hinders sustainable development and competitiveness within the organization. Therefore, our understanding of sustainability is limited. The study uses a mixed-method paradigm to identify the causal relationship among constructs crucial for driving organizational sustainability to achieve a competitive advantage. It also contrasts the perspectives of management and employees regarding the parameters that may catalyze sustainable competitive performance. The result reveals a deviation in perspective between management and employees. Management has a holistic vision, while employees emphasize personal growth and development. The study deepens our comprehension of the essential elements required for the achievement of organizational sustainability and facilitates competitive advantage. It may instill confidence in HRM professionals to work on these factors, enabling them to connect micro-level organizational sustainable initiatives with the global macro-level sustainable goals. It may aid the organization to flourish in the market.
