<p>This paper analyzes the voltage reflection in silicon carbide-based motor drive systems with coiled long cable. The mechanism of overvoltage oscillation at the motor terminal caused by voltage reflection is explained. The electrical parameters affecting the line-to-line voltage at the motor input are identified. An equivalent circuit of coiled cable considering the variations of electrical parameters with additional components is proposed. The proposed equivalent circuit is compared with conventional models regarding the impact of cable configuration on line-to-line voltage. The probability of insulation breakdown is examined in relation to whether cable geometry serves as a contributing factor. The validity of the proposed equivalent model is verified through simulation and experimental results.</p>
