Arc Fault Line Detection in Multi-Load Systems Using High-Frequency Noise and Zero-Crossing Period Analysis
摘要
During the operation of electrical equipment in industrial sites, arc faults can result in electrical fires. Several studies have explored methods to detect arc faults. However, determining the specific load that generates the arc when simultaneously operating multiple loads remains challenging. Therefore, this study proposes an algorithm to find the arc-generating line and maintain the normal-state load in a multi-load operation situation. Through simulations and experiments we demonstrate that it is possible to identify and shut down the arc-generating load by installing a high-frequency noise detection sensor in the input voltage source line and calculating the zero-crossing period of the current of each load and that of the radio frequency amplifier output voltage. In addition, it was experimentally confirmed that the proposed arc-detection algorithm does not malfunction even in situations with varying load currents.
