Ultrasonic Audio Amplitude Modulation Transceiver Built with Analog Circuits

Ultrasonic waves have extensive and significant applications in various fields such as communication, healthcare, industry, environmental protection, and daily life. This paper presents the implementation of an ultrasonic audio transceiver designed for short - range communication. In a 5 - meter open - environment test, with the transmitter and receiver placed in direct alignment, the system ensures the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the signal does not exceed 5%. The transmitting system is composed of an oscillator, a multiplier, and a power amplifier. On the other hand, the receiving system consists of a signal receiving module, an amplifying circuit, a filtering circuit, a gain - adjusting circuit, a detecting circuit, and an audio amplifier. Notably, all functional circuits are constructed using integrated operational amplifiers and discrete components, effectively covering both fundamental and advanced topics in analog circuit design. This design makes the system highly suitable for engineering project - oriented analog electronics education, providing students with a hand - on platform to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications. Additionally, this implementation helps foster students’ engineering problem - solving skills and enhance their comprehensive experimental proficiency, making a positive contribution to engineering education in electrical and electronic disciplines.
