<p>VANETs consist of interconnected vehicles and roadside components which forming a dynamic network infrastructure through wireless communication. The vehicular nodes establish communication links to exchange traffic data and road maps, particularly when broadcasting warning messages across the network in emergency situations. Node localization is essential for a number of uses, including location-based services, routing, congestion management, and collision avoidance. However, precise node localization is severely hindered by hostile conditions and dynamic vehicular motion. In this paper, a novel NorthErn goshaWk inspired node LOcalization for VANET (NEW-LOVE) technique has been proposed for the purpose of disseminating warning messages in an emergency. The proposed method employs Northern Goshawk Optimization for Node Localization (NGO-NL), which dynamically adjusts the search based on the location of unidentified Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) nodes and employs exploration and exploitation phases to effectively locate NLOS nodes. Parameters such as the delivery rate of warning messages, the degree of neighborhood awareness, packet delivery ratio, channel utilization rate, energy consumption, and localization error have been used to examine the presentation of the proposed technique. In comparison to the existing ROA-APS, HIWO-SSA-LM, STFHOA, IWDH-HP-RDD, DTO-NL, and SHSAOA localization processes, the proposed NEW-LOVE technique showed that the warning message delivery rate increases by 12.75%, 11.03%, 13.2%, 7.31%, 6.4%, and 4.43% respectively.</p>
