Synthesis of TiC Nanocarbide from Recycled Machined Ti Chips and Graphite Powder via Mechanical Alloying
摘要
In this work, nanostructured TiC carbide was prepared via mechanical alloying (MA) in a high-energy planetary ball mill from recycled machined titanium chips and graphite powder. XRD analysis reveals that the reaction was completed after 3 h of milling. XRD further revealed that the average crystallite size decreased with milling duration to reaches a critical value of 9 nm after 20 h of milling. At this same time, SEM analysis shows that the powders exhibit homogeneous distribution of the particles with about 0.5 μm in size. TEM analysis shows large distribution in particle size with an average size of 20 nm.
