摘要

The textile and apparel industry causes serious environmental issues due to its use of a linear economic model based on "take-make-use-dispose." Moving to a circular economy enables a more sustainable approach by reducing waste, saving resources, and improving production and consumption systems. This review figures out the importance of circular economy strategies in the textile and apparel sector. It analyzes case studies of circular business models, successful fashion brands, and discusses key practices such as eco-design, recycling, the use of biodegradable materials, take-back programs, and closed-loop supply chains. The main contribution of this review is to evaluate existing circular practices and innovations in the industry. It also highlights the main challenges to implementing these strategies, including technology limits, lack of supportive policies, and complex purchasing behaviors. It also suggests research directions to guide future research work in this area. By providing practical insights and promoting collaboration among industry stakeholders, the findings suggest that the transition from a linear to a circular economy in textiles and apparel can help the industry to move toward for long-term environmental and economic sustainability.
