摘要

The growing environmental impact of textile and apparel waste necessitates a comprehensive evaluation of sustainable waste management practices within the framework of a circular economy. This study evaluates the application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to assess the environmental footprint of textiles from raw material extraction to end-of-life processes. It aims to identify key challenges in current waste management techniques and explore effective solutions to mitigate environmental challenges. It analyzes advancements in recycling, upcycling, and circular design concepts as well as their integration with modern technologies such as IoT (Internet of Things) and blockchain. Advanced recycling techniques and circular economy principles can significantly reduce dependency on virgin materials. The incorporation of digital tools enhances supply chain transparency and stakeholder collaboration. It emphasizes the importance of ongoing work and cross-sector cooperation to develop scalable, efficient, and sustainable waste management practices for the textile and apparel industry. The main goal of this study is to include the development of modern recycling technologies with improved LCA strategies to enhance stakeholder engagement throughout the supply chain.
