<p>This paper introduces software-defined vehicles (SDVs), a key factor in shaping the future of the automotive industry, and explains the next-generation electrical/electronic (E/E) architectures enabling the stable implementation of the hardware and software platforms necessary for SDVs, the hardware platform that can ensure both performance and reliability, and the software platform that allows addition, modification, and removal of services for flexibility and adaptability.</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
