摘要

This study aims to investigate the factors influencing blockchain technology adoption in the banking sector of an emerging country. This study uses a combined model of eight theories known as the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to uncover several factors behind the decision to embrace blockchain technology. This study’s primary focus is on the core factors of UTAUT. Data collected for this study from the private commercial banks in Bangladesh were cross-sectional. Multiple regression analysis was used to unveil the research questions and test the hypothesis in this study. The empirical results showed that all the variables of Effort Expectancy (EE), Performance Expectancy (PE), Social Influence (SI), and Facilitating Condition (FC) have statistically significant and positive impacts on the desire of bankers to embrace blockchain technology. The analysis showed substantial implications for adopting blockchain technology in Bangladesh’s banking sector. Moreover, the findings might be helpful and supportive to policymakers and scholars who wish to research the adoption of blockchain technology in Bangladesh’s banking sector.
