Fungal Endophyte Effects on Triticum Aestivum Growth, Yield and Quality
摘要
This work proposes the study of the effect of two endophytic fungi on agronomic and quality parameters in wheat and aims to explore the potential of these microorganisms to develop tools applied to crop improvement. In this study, the effect of Acremonium strictum and Trichoderma amazonicum endophytic fungi on wheat seed germination was determined using blotter tests and germination and seedling development on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium. Agronomic parameters related to wheat plant growth, as well as yield and flour quality, were also evaluated in the presence and absence of endophytic fungi in two greenhouse trials performed in two years. Both fungal endophytes evaluated in this studypromoted increased relative chlorophyll content,a higher number of tillers, weight of grains per spike and yield in wheat plants containing endophytes (E+) compared to endophyte- free plants (E-). The results suggest that Acremonium strictum and Trichoderma amazonicum may be used as biostimulants to increase crop fitness parameters and yield.
