摘要

Amida vietnamica Hoàng 1982 is a rarely recorded species of ladybird beetle belonging to the tribe Ortaliini (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae). Originally described from Vietnam and lately recorded in China, there have been no recent reports of confirming its persistence in India. During faunal surveys in West Bengal, multiple specimens were collected and identified as A. vietnamica based on diagnostic morphological characteristics. The discovery emphasizes the vital role of field-based biodiversity assessments in documenting underrepresented faunal elements. Morphological illustrations and ecological insights are provided to aid in accurate identification and future research.
