<p>Pakistan encompasses three biogeographical zones—Afrotropical, Palearctic, and Oriental—each characterized by distinct flora, fauna, climate, and ecological features. The current biogeographic distribution of Syrphid fauna in the region is based on the classification of 17 taxa collected from the Shangla District in the Chakesar Valley, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. All the reported species are new records for this study area. These 17 taxa belong to nine genera within the subfamilies Syrphinae and Eristalinae. The subfamily Syrphinae is represented by 11 species: <i>Episyrphus balteatus, Episyrphus viridaureus, Ischiodon scutellaris, Eupeodes corollae, Eupeodes latifasciatus, Eupeodes sp., Scaeva latimaculata, Scaeva pyrastri, Sphaerophoria indiana, Sphaerophoria</i> sp., and <i>Melanostoma orientale</i>. The subfamily Eristalinae includes six species: <i>Eristalis tenax, Eristalis (Eoseristalis) cerealis, Eristalis (Eoseristalis) arbustorum, Eristalinus (Eristalinus) aeneus, Syritta orientalis, and Syritta pipiens.</i></p><p>Keywords: Dipetera, Syrphidae, Fauna, Pakistan, Shangla, Hoverflies</p>
