<p>Efficacy of single and combined treatments of two organophosphorus insecticides (OPs), pirimiphos-methyl (PI) and malathion (MA), and two chitin synthesis inhibitors (CSIs), chlorfluazuron (CL) and hexaflumuron (HE), was tested against <i>Trogoderma granarium</i> Everts (Coleoptera: Dermestidae) on wheat grains. Evaluations were done by mixing wheat by insecticides at the following rates: PI (2.5, 5.0 and 10.0 ppm), MA (2.0, 4.0 and 8.0 ppm), CL (5.0 and 10.0 ppm) and HE (5.0 and 10.0 ppm). Treatments of wheat grain with OPs and CSIs alone or in binary mixtures caused larval mortality ranging between 5.7 and 91.1% in single treatments and between 63.5 and 98.3% in combined treatments after 14 days of exposure. The binary mixtures were significantly more toxic than insecticides alone, the mixtures (pirimiphos-methyl at 10.0 ppm + chlorfluazuron at 10.0 ppm, pirimiphos-methyl at 10.0 ppm + hexaflumuron at 10.0 ppm, malathion at 8.0 ppm + chlorfluazuron at 10.0 ppm and malathion at 8.0 ppm + hexaflumuron at 10.0 ppm) induced high larval mortalities (95.3, 94.4, 98.3 and 96.1%), respectively after 14 days of treatment. Additionally, treatments with hexaflumuron or chlorfluazuron alone, or in combinations with malathion resulted in a total suppression of adult emergence. All single and combined treatments of OPs and CSIs protected wheat grain (weight loss = 0.0%) against damage caused by <i>T. granarium</i> larvae for 80 days. The findings of the present study indicate that the binary mixtures of OPs/CSIs are highly effective grain protectants and could be implemented in the management of <i>T. granarium</i>.</p>
