Morphological properties, biochemical and mineral composition of five dates varieties (Phoenix dactylifera L.) planted under different oasis microclimates
摘要
This work aimed at studying the pomological properties, biochemical and mineral composition of different cultivars date samples harvested from three Moroccan oases (Errachidia Tinghir, and Zagora). Date fruits were subjected to a study targeting dates variability according to climatic conditions. At the pomological level, the maximum length (L), width (l) and weight (W) recorded in the Mejhoul variety were L = 48.3 ± 4.93 mm, l = 25.7 ± 2.95 mm, and W = 22.15 ± 4.65 g, respectively. The minimum values were recorded in Bousthammi variety with values of L = 30.95 ± 2.72 l = mm, 17.67 ± 1.13 mm, and W = 6.24 ± 1.19 g, respectively. Regarding humidity content, Boufeggous variety was the most humid (29.23%), while the Jihel variety had the less water content (26.83%). Total sugar (TS) content varied in analyzed samples between 71.2 ± 1.77 and 83.07 ± 1.16 g/100 g dry matter in Boufeggous and Outoukdim varieties, respectively. Mineral composition showed that potassium (K+) was the most abundant element in studied varieties, with a high value of 8184.46 mg/kg, and copper (Cu+) was the less abundant, with a value of 1.76 mg/kg recorded in Boufeggous variety.
