<p>As seed quality is pivotal for crop production, understanding the factors that influence it becomes critical. Thus, our research analysed the effects of bunch position and plant spacing on the quality of the seeds of the tomato. We conducted the experiments in randomized blocks in a factorial scheme with a plot divided over time, analysing five spacing between plants, three parts of the plant, starting from the two bunches at the lower part of the plant, and harvesting time counting. We analysed the number, weight, and yield of fruits and seeds, and physiological quality was assessed via germination and emergence tests. The experiments were conducted over two consecutive years. Harvesting time influenced fruit size according to plant spacing. Larger fruits were obtained from bunches at P1 and P2; however, a lower spacing resulted in a greater yield of fruits. Nevertheless, greater seed quality was observed for heavier fruits. Our results indicate that spacing and fruit position influence both fruit and seed characteristics. Additionally, to define the spacing, bunch position, and harvesting time, it is necessary to consider the destination (seed production or fruit consumption).</p>
