The influence of phosphorus forms on agronomical traits and yields of soybean (Glycine max)

This study investigates the effects of three different phosphate fertilizers, including diammonium phosphate (DAP), monoammonium phosphate (MAP), and tricalcium phosphate (TCP) on the growth and productivity of the soybean variety DT96. By examining key growth parameters such as stem height, nodule formation, leaf area index, chlorophyll content, dry matter accumulation, flower and fruit count, branch number, and grain weight, our study delineates the significant enhancements attributable to phosphate fertilization. Moreover, it explores the reduction in flowering period and the beneficial impacts on root growth, including size, number, area, and volume, with a particular emphasis on the superior performance of TCP treatment in promoting root development. The MAP treatment yielded the highest amount, recorded at 8.32 g/pot, equivalent to 125.33 g/m² when adjusted for plant density. Taken together, this study highlights the pivotal role of phosphate fertilization in enhancing soybean agronomic traits and yield and provides important insights to guide nutrient management strategies.
