<p>This study provides an overview of the current understanding of management strategies, including monitoring, agrotechnical measures, biological control, and chemical control. Research on the date palm scale (DPS) was initiated following widespread infestations, primarily attributed to the indiscriminate use of organophosphate pesticides. This led to the gradual establishment of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program aimed at combating <i>Parlatoria blanchardi</i>. The program incorporating the aforementioned strategies, has demonstrated sustained effectiveness control of this scale insect, a success that continues to the present day. This review highlights that IPM for <i>P. blanchardi</i> centers around three primary elements: stringent quarantine measures, physical control methods, and biological control techniques. Each component is examined in detail, with a focus on its implementation, adoption, and role in managing scale insect populations in date palm orchards. Strict internal quarantine protocols—such as inspecting offshoots prior to transplantation—are essential for preventing pest dispersal via human activities. Additionally, physical control measures have achieved a 92.2% mortality rate in DPS populations, indicating high efficacy. Nevertheless, biological control remains the most environmentally sustainable and preferred method when compared to chemical and physical alternatives.</p>
