Hot-Wire Velocity Measurements in Subsonic Nozzle Flows: An Experimental Test Campaign
摘要
Understanding the development of turbulent jets in subsonic nozzles is essential for improving jet noise prediction models and for validating high-fidelity numerical simulations in aerospace applications. Within the framework of the NATO STO AVT-415 activity, a dedicated experimental campaign was carried out at the Italian Aerospace Research Center (CIRA) to investigate the velocity field and turbulence characteristics at the inlet and exit of a novel subsonic nozzle configuration using hot-wire anemometry (HWA). The results offer a comprehensive description of the flow evolution downstream of the nozzle exit and a detailed characterization of the turbulence properties upstream of the nozzle. These measurements are of significant importance for validating numerical simulations and establishing accurate boundary conditions.
