<p>Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) due to exposure to whole-body vibration (WBV) are a common issue faced by dumper operators in mines worldwide. WBV is a recognized occupational hazard and increases the risk of chronic pain and long-term health issues. This study evaluated the WBV exposure and its association with various factors among dumper operators working under different mining conditions, which have been insufficiently addressed and explored. The study also explored the influence of factors such as seat design, machine age, load tonnage, and dumper speed with WBV exposure of dumper operators. Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) and face-to-face interviews were used for data collection. A total number of 112 dumper operators was chosen from iron ore and coal mines. The WBV exposure assessment of the dumper operators was primarily assessed using the frequency-weighted root mean square (RMS) acceleration. The multiple regression model was used to explore the association of various factors&#xa0;and interaction effect. The results revealed that in coal mines, 96% of operators were at moderate health risk based on RMS acceleration, A(8), while in iron ore mines, 59% exceeded lower exposure limits. Significant WBV was observed in both vertical and horizontal axes, with coal mine operators showing higher exposure to RMS acceleration. Musculoskeletal disorders differed between the two mine types, with a higher prevalence of upper back pain in iron ore mines. Statistically significant differences were found between exposure in coal and iron ore mines, with speed and load conditions significantly influencing WBV exposure. Dumper operators experienced elevated risk of MSDs due to prolonged exposure to WBV according the mine type. Regular evaluation and reduction of both MSDs and WBV exposure are essential.</p>
