Study on the Influencing Factors for the Preparation of Neodymium Fluoride from Rare Earth Chloride Solutions
摘要
Rare earth fluorides are important raw materials for the production of rare earth metals by oxide electrolysis and calorimetric reduction. In this paper, the effects of the type of fluorinating agent, the amount of fluorinating agent, the reaction temperature, the aging time, and the method of fluoride precipitation on the process of the preparation of neodymium fluoride were investigated by using neodymium chloride solution as the raw material. The results showed that under the conditions of HF (pH = 2) as fluorinating agent, fluorinating agent dosage of 1.1 times of the theoretical amount, reaction temperature of 333 K, aging time of 3 h, and co-precipitation, the rare earth yield and fluoridation rate were 99.76% and 99.48%, respectively, and the product quality was in accordance with the requirements of the standard value of neodymium fluoride industry in XB/T 214–2015. The XRD and SEM characterization of neodymium fluoride shows that there are no diffraction peaks of other impurities, and the product is loose in shape, showing irregular granularity and fine particle size.
