摘要

Neurological diseases affect nearly 50 million people in Germany and pose a major challenge due to high morbidity, complex symptom burden, and significant impact on quality of life and care needs. Despite therapeutic advances, many conditions remain incurable and require early palliative involvement. Patients experience diverse physical, psychosocial, and spiritual burdens, often complicated by communication impairments, complex symptom assessment, and the frequent loss of decision-making capacity. Dysphagia is common across many neurological disorders and requires a nuanced diagnostic and therapeutic approach. Although structural resources exist, neuropalliative care remains underutilised, underscoring the need for stronger interdisciplinary collaboration between neurology and palliative care.
