<p>Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is caused by the deposition of β‑amyloid in the walls of cortical arteries. The main risk factors include advanced age and the presence of the apolipoprotein (Apo) E‑4 allele. In many cases, CAA is clinically asymptomatic. Lobar intracerebral hemorrhage is a&#xa0;typical manifestation. The diagnosis can only be confirmed by histopathological examination. A&#xa0;clinically probable diagnosis can be made if lobar macro- and microbleeds are detected on imaging and other causes have been ruled out.</p>
