<p>This study assessed the impact of Indonesia’s Productive Migration Village Program (Desmigratif) on women and children. Although the programme was established under Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 2 of 2019 to empower communities through migrant worker resettlement initiatives, evidence on its tangible outcomes for returning workers and their families remains limited. Thus, an exploratory qualitative methodology was employed, involving in-depth interviews conducted with eight key informants, including a village head, programme managers, a government protection official, and a former migrant worker in Ponorogo Regency. Findings indicate that the programme strengthens community support systems and fosters economic empowerment through micro, small, and medium enterprises, thereby contributing to improved social well-being. However, challenges related to programme sustainability and equitable access were also identified. This study concludes that while Desmigratif offers a valuable framework for socio-economic improvement, its long-term effectiveness depends on enhanced implementation and institutional support to ensure broader and more lasting impact.</p>
