<p>The diversity and community structure of nematodes associated with banana plantations in the Muzaffarpur district were investigated in this study. A total of 16 nematode genera were identified and classified into plant parasitic nematodes (PPN), predatory nematodes (PRN), and microbivorus nematodes (MVN). Among the PPN, <i>Radopholus similis</i> and <i>Pratylenchus coffeae</i> were the most frequent (43.7% and 43.5%, respectively). <i>P. coffeae</i> also exhibited the highest density (5.6) and prominence value (0.4). In the PRN group, <i>Mylonchulus</i> sp. was the most frequent (37.5%) and had the highest prominence value (0.2), while <i>Dorylaimus</i> sp. showed the highest biomass (51.731&#xa0;µg). <i>Chiloplacus</i> sp. dominated in the MVN group with the highest frequency (43.7%), density (8.4), and prominence value (0.6). Importance value analysis underscored <i>Dorylaimus</i> sp. as the most significant nematode in the community, followed by <i>Chiloplacus</i> sp. and <i>H. indicus</i>. The trophic group-wise analysis highlighted PPN group as the most prevalent in terms of frequency and density, whereas PRN group exhibited the highest biomass. These findings provide a comprehensive understanding of nematode community dynamics in banana plantations, offering insights crucial for developing sustainable nematode management strategies to enhance banana crop health and productivity in Muzaffarpur district.</p>
