First report of leaf spot disease on Zanthoxylum rhetsa caused by Fusarium solani-melongenae in India
摘要
Zanthoxylum rhetsa, a deciduous medicinal tree was spotted for the first time infetced with leaf spot caused by Fusarium solani-melongenae with 10–15% infection in Arunachal Pradesh, India. A collective study of morphological and molecular characteristics confirmed the causal fungal pathogen as F. solani-melongenae.The single spore isolation indicated the presence of boat shaped macro conidia with multiple septation while micro conidia are ovoid shaped having zero to one septation. Hyphae were hyaline and septate. Chlamydospores were also present. Fragment of ITS rDNA gene amplified using ITSF and ITSR primers and sequenced (acc: PP716535). NCBI blast and phylogenetic tree analysis of the sequence (Acc: PP716535) revealed 99.22% (Acc: KX262972) similarity and showed sister clan with F. solani-melongenae. The occurrence of leaf spot caused by F. solani-melongenae on Z. rhetsa is the first from India. Identifying of this fungal disease will throw a light to adopt theaccurate and effective measures for systematic management.
