<p>The study aims to evaluate the perceptions of children aged 9–12 about nature, nature where they live, and their projections of future nature. This study is qualitative research, and its model is phenomenology. The data was collected using the drawing technique. The study was carried out in three steps. In the first step, children were asked to draw a picture of what comes to their mind when they hear the word nature. In the second step, they were asked to draw a picture of nature where they live. In the third step, they were asked to draw a picture of nature in the future. A total of 62 children aged between 9 and 12 participated in the study. Each child participating in the study drew three pictures in line with the research questions. A total of 186 pictures were examined through content analysis. The pictures drawn in line with the research questions were evaluated under three themes: "nature", "nature where they live", and "future nature”. The findings displayed that, children are aware of the environmental problems that are evident where they live and possible problems in the future. Based on this, it is possible to say that children have environmental awareness.</p>
