A Comparative Study for Spectrophotometric Determination of Riluzole in Drug Samples by Batch Method and Cloud Point Extraction Procedure: Sustainability Profile Assessments

The new azo dye (E)-4-((6-(trifluoromethoxy)benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)diazenyl)benzene-1,3-diol (TBTB) was prepared by diazotizing riluzole with resorcinol. For the first time, a comparative analysis was conducted for the spectrophotometric determination of riluzole in medication samples using the batch approach and the cloud point extraction (CPE) technique. Triton X-114 was used as a surfactant in the CPE method. The effect of a variety of variables was examined. Validation guidelines for these techniques have been determined, such as linearity for batch (25.0–85.0 mg/L) and CPE methods (0.003-90.0 mg/L), limit of detection (LOD = 0.18 and 0.1 mg/L), limit of quantification (LOQ = 0.54 and 0.31 mg/L), respectively. Additionally, the CPE preconcentration factor was 40.0. Three greenness applications, including the Blue Applicability Grade Index (BAGI), the analytical greenness calculator (AGREE), and the Sample Preparation Metric of Sustainability (SPMS), were used to assess the ecological impacts of the proposed techniques.
