Synthesis, Structural Elucidation and Antimicrobial Investigation of m-phenylenediamine Derivatives of Schiff Base Metal Complexes
摘要
This review encompasses a comprehensive overview of the synthesis, structural features and potential biological activities of m-phenylenediamine derived Schiff bases along with their metal complexes, which fascinate the researchers for their astounding applications in multitudinous fields. Due to the presence of number of coordination sites notable aspects related to the structure of m-phenylenediamine derivatives are highlighted which give rise to novelty in respective Schiff bases and their complexes. By the condensation m-phenylenediamine with appropriate aldehyde or ketone Diverse groups of m-phenylenediamine derived Schiff bases were fabricated and each m-phenylenediamine ligand amalgamate with respective transition metal chlorides, acetates, nitrates, sulfates, oxides, or iodides to yield particular m-phenylenediamine derived metal complex, which are further characterized by employing advanced physiochemical and spectral techniques. Main objective of this review is to focus on the applications of m-phenylenediamine derived complexes in biomedical domain. This review illustrates an informative study of the recent developments in the research field.
