摘要

Water pollution, particularly from dye-intensive industries, has become a significant environmental issue due to the toxic and persistent nature of dyes in wastewater. The need for efficient and sustainable solutions for the removal of these pollutants is critical. This research introduces an innovative approach to water purification using magnetite nanoparticles embedded within nanofibers, which are fabricated via the electrospinning technique. These nanofibers were extensively characterized through various analytical techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Nitrogen Adsorption-Desorption Isotherms (BET), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The performance of the composite nanofibers was assessed by examining their adsorption capabilities in aqueous solutions containing two different dyes: Toluidine Blue and Congo Red. The adsorption process followed a pseudo-second-order kinetic model, demonstrating high correlation coefficients. The results revealed impressive dye removal efficiencies, with a removal rate of 76% for Toluidine Blue (at an adsorption capacity of 280 mg/g) and 79% for Congo Red (at an adsorption capacity of 300 mg/g), both at a dye concentration of 1 g/L. These promising findings highlight the potential of magnetite-infused nanofibers as highly effective adsorbents for dye removal from water, offering an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution for the treatment of industrial wastewater, particularly from dye-intensive industries.
