<p>Red spot disease (RSD) caused by the fungus <i>Polystigma rubrum</i> is one of the most damaging diseases of Chinese plum (<i>Prunus salicina</i>) in Guizhou Province. It mainly harms the leaves of the plants but can also infect the fruit, cause premature fruit drop and seriously reduce fruit yield and quality, which is restricting the development of the plum industry in Guizhou. Surveillance carried out during 2022 and 2023 detected this disease in the major plum-producing districts of Guizhou, including Xiuwen, Kaiyang, and other areas, with a mean incidence rate of 5.25% to 85.84% across districts. It was also found that the plum cultivars ‘Cuihong’ and ‘Qingcui’ are susceptible to this disease, whereas ‘Fengtang’ is resistant to it. In a study of 13 fungicides for RSD control and their effects on plum fruit growth and quality, 30% prothioconazole Oil Dispersion (OD) and 430&#xa0;g/L tebuconazole suspension concentrate (SC) were found to be effective against RSD, with field control efficacies of 88.33% and 86.12%, respectively. In addition, both of these fungicides were more effective in enhancing fruit growth and improving fruit quality than the other fungicides tested. Therefore, it is recommended that 30% prothioconazole (OD) and 430&#xa0;g/L tebuconazole (SC) are used to control RSD on plum.</p>

摘要

Red spot disease (RSD) caused by the fungus Polystigma rubrum is one of the most damaging diseases of Chinese plum (Prunus salicina) in Guizhou Province. In a study of 13 fungicides for RSD control and their effects on plum fruit growth and quality, 30% prothioconazole Oil Dispersion (OD) and 430 g/L tebuconazole suspension concentrate (SC) were found to be effective against RSD, with field control efficacies of 88.33% and 86.12%, respectively. In addition, both of these fungicides were more effective in enhancing fruit growth and improving fruit quality than the other fungicides tested. Therefore, it is recommended that 30% prothioconazole (OD) and 430 g/L tebuconazole (SC) are used to control RSD on plum.
