Characterization of a new isolate of tomato zonate spot virus from Vaccinium uliginosum L. in China
摘要
In this study, tomato zonate spot virus (TZSV) was identified using high-throughput sequencing of total RNA from two pools of blueberry (Vaccinium sp.) in China. Symptomatic plants exhibited yellow ringspots, with an infection rate of 80%. Following the determination of the complete genome via RT-PCR and RACE, phylogenetic analysis showed that the Gn/Gc protein formed a distinct cluster, despite other viral proteins (N, NSs, NSm, and RdRp) clustering with previously reported isolates. These results extend the host range of TZSV to woody plants and offer critical genomic insights into orthotospovirus evolution and host-adaptation mechanisms.
