Diabetes-Typ-1-Screening – welche Screeningprogramme gibt es und wo stehen wir in Österreich?
摘要
The new stage-based classification of type 1 diabetes opens up new opportunities for early detection, prevention, and personalised care.
T1D screening makes it possible to identify individuals in the early stages of T1D, thereby reducing the rate of complications (particularly the rate of DKA at the onset of T1D) as the condition progresses to symptomatic T1D, prepares those affected for the onset of T1D at an earlier stage, and provides people with appropriate immunotherapies, thereby delaying symptomatic stages and, in the best-case scenario, even preventing them.
This article outlines the screening programmes that have been established worldwide so far, summarises the various antibody measurement methods and provides an overview of the current status of screening for type 1 diabetes in Austria.
