摘要

The aim of this study was to verify whether the organizational environment and management and organizational incentives influence the behaviors that make up intrapreneurship among Brazilian teachers. In addition, we will analyze whether these behaviors directly influence student satisfaction in the view of teachers and indirectly influence the perception of the institution's competitive advantage. Considering that the behaviors that make up intrapreneurship are strategic renewal behavior and venture behavior, a structural model was proposed. To test the hypotheses, this study focused on higher education, targeting teachers at higher education institutions. Primary data were collected using a questionnaire, obtaining a total of 222 valid responses, and the analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling with partial least squares estimation. The results showed that encouragement from the management and the organization tends to have a direct and positive impact on strategic renewal behavior. They also revealed that strategic renewal behavior tends to have a direct and positive influence on student satisfaction in the teachers' view, and this can, in turn, have a direct and positive influence on the institution's competitive advantage. Being a novelty for literature, the findings of this study highlight that when the management and the organization encourage strategic renewal behavior in the teaching staff, this can increase perceived student satisfaction and, consequently, strengthen the perception of competitive advantage of higher education institutions.
