<p>This study conducted a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of research on entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) in higher education. Using structural topic modelling of 793 articles from 1997 to 2024, 12 key research themes were identified: experiential learning, educational mentorship, cognitive adaptation, and sustainable entrepreneurship. The analysis revealed the evolution of ESE research over time, with growing interest in topics such as technology-enhanced learning environments and gender differences in recent years. Key knowledge producers were identified in both developed and emerging economies. This study highlights the multidisciplinary nature of ESE research in the fields of education, psychology, management, and entrepreneurship. Future research directions include examining ESE development through emerging technologies, sustainable entrepreneurship contexts, and the impact of failure experiences. This review synthesises the current state of ESE research and provides a roadmap for advancing the understanding of how entrepreneurial self-efficacy can be cultivated in educational settings to foster entrepreneurial intentions and behaviours.</p>
