Impact of university education support on green entrepreneurship intentions among university students in Bangladesh: a mediating and moderating analysis
摘要
The environmental and social benefits of green practices have attracted a lot of attention from organizations and educational institutions, but researchers have rarely examined the moderating effect of perceived happiness on green entrepreneurial intention (GEI). Based on the combination of social cognitive theory and theory of planned behavior, we hypothesized that university education support (UES) has a significant impact on GEI among some Bangladeshi university students. Additionally, the relationship between UES and GEI mediated and moderated by perceived behavioral control (PBC) and perceived happiness (PH) was also determined. We collected data from 350 students from a variety of public and private universities in Bangladesh, including the fields of business, arts and humanities, and science backgrounds using adopted questionnaires. The analysis was made by applying structural equation modeling using a bootstrapping sample of 5000 with the help of SMART PLS 4.1. The study results revealed that UES have a significant impact on GEI. Moreover, the mediating effect of PBC is significant between UES and GEI. PH also successfully moderated between UES and GEI. Taken together, UES significantly impacted GEI among the participants. PBC was between UES and GEI, and PH also significantly moderated between UES and GEI. Further studies are highly appreciated to check these factors among the university students in large diversity groups.
