<p>The United Nations has recognized the need to develop a comprehensive framework to mitigate the environmental impact of various industrial processes through the implementation of innovative approaches and technologies. This study presents the reconfiguration of a Twin-Screw Compressor (TSC) for dry industrial refrigeration applications, incorporating ecodesign principles. The methodology involved applying life cycle analysis to evaluate the environmental impact of the product. Subsequently, the rotor shaft geometry was defined based on dynamic loading failure criteria, and the finite element method was employed to determine the stresses generated by gear rotation. The findings indicate a 46% enhancement in component longevity and a 30% reduction in manufacturing inputs for the shaft, thereby mitigating environmental effects. The ecodesign methodology can significantly enhance the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of twin screw compressors. The results offer practical recommendations for future designs, highlighting improvements in both performance and environmental factors.</p>
