Availability and profit analysis of cold standby system subject to refreshments facility

In today's era, several techniques for performance improvement of maintainable systems have been adopted by scientists and engineers during designing them. Any system or unit made by the manufacturer works with full capacity to perform a particular task when it is functioning under specified conditions. The main aim of present paper is to determine the reliability measures of a cold standby system of identical units by using the semi-Markov process and regenerative point technique. Here, the system has two units - operative and cold standby. When operative unit fails then cold standby unit starts working. To rectify the faults of the system, a technician is always available and the units work as new after repair. Tables are used to depict the behavior of some important reliability measures such as mean time to system failure, availability of the system, and profit function.
