<p>In order to obtain an improved estimator of the population parameter utilizing the available auxiliary information, calibration estimation is becoming more useful and popular. This paper gives a new calibration estimator for estimating the population mean in the stratified random sampling using the mean and coefficient of variation of the auxiliary variable in calibration constraints. The suggested estimator has also been extended in the case of stratified double sampling. The proposed estimators have been compared with the estimators given by Tracy et al. (2003) and Garg and Pachori (2020) with the help of a simulation study carried out on a real as well as two artificial datasets.</p>
