<p>This study aims to design a simple and robust controller for DC-DC buck converter (DCBC).. In this study, the small-signal analysis method is used for non-ideal modelling of DCBC. A Grey Wolf optimized proportional integral (PI) controller is selected as a controller for the non-ideal model of DCBC with the integral of the absolute error weighted over time (ITAE) as the fitness function. The controller’s performance is tested in hardware using a LabVIEW myRIO 1900 module. The hardware results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed controller in overcoming input voltage variations&#xa0;and load resistance variations in&#xa0;the DCBC. The controller also provides excellent reference voltage tracking performance, with no overshoot and steady state error.</p>
