An innovative fuzzy gravitational search algorithm (FGSA) with an adaptive swap mechanism for solving travelling salesman problem (TSP)

This paper introduces a fuzzy-based gravitational search algorithm (FGSA) to solve the traveling salesman problem (TSP). FGSA adopts a fuzzy parameter control mechanism to achieve exploration–exploitation balance. In addition, it possesses an adaptive swap strategy to enhance convergence. The method is applied to various TSP instances from TSPLIB and compared with well-known metaheuristic algorithms. Experimental results indicate that FGSA repeatedly provides high-quality solutions with improved robustness.
