PoPR: a novel blockchain consensus mechanism for reliable crowdsourced data
摘要
The core of smart systems is the data in the digital form and its applications in the variety of industries. The growth of Smart Systems depends on the rising use of smart devices, the IoT, and the fast-expending social media usage and applications. This tirade is contributing to the explosion in the expansion of data which has never been witnessed before. Indeed, various computing paradigms have simplified the processes of this data, which contributes to the expansion of the knowledge base and provides users with sophisticated user-oriented services. However, in the process of providing these services, the businesses encounter big challenges of security, privacy and reliability. To mitigate these challenges, blockchain technology has emerged as a game-changer in various use-cases. This research in this paper is a step forward in strengthening the ability of the blockchains by improving consensus algorithms and their usage. In addition, based on historical records, the study provides a new method to deduce the reputation of each node in the Blockchain. With the help of simulation and analysis, we demonstrate that our method achieves better results over the historically available methods, notably in when it deals with crowdsourcing as a key source of data. In brief, the study in this paper enhances our perception and functionality of blockchain as a way of rooting out contemporary data related issues.
